As I have mentioned in a previous blog post …. I LOVE AUTUMN!
Now a lot of people would just assume that my love of Autumn would include the holiday that occurs in this season, Halloween! But I HATE Halloween, I don’t know why but this holiday is just not for me! However I do like decorating for the holiday, except my decor is less spiders webs and ghosts and more simple and refined.
My favourite place to decorate is the fireplace, this is a space that changes with the seasons and in my case is the centre of the living space! There are so many different ways you can decorate and style your homes with pumpkins and gourds so I wanted to show a few different style that you could recreate in your homes.
As I mentioned in a previous blog, the ‘botanical garden’ trend is really big in interior design right now. A big part of pulling off the trend successfully is bring plants into your decor.
Now I don’t know about you but I am not a great gardener.
I am going to be honest, I’m a serial plant killer!
In an effort to stop killing plants I did some research into houseplants that are easy to look after, and thought i’d share with you guys my favorites that I found.
Those of you who have been following my blog will know I went to the design show Decorex a couple of weeks ago. Whilst there I came across this brand, Vinterior. I genuinely felt that their stand was one of the highlights of the show for me. It was very well put together and just showed how unique pieces can work together in a space. I thought their company was so unique I had to share it with you guys.
Recently on a trip to Brighton I went to Redroaster for lunch. This place has one of the best cafe interiors I have ever seen.
This former post office has been transformed into interior lovers dream.
A grand marble bar dominants the space, small square tiles with black grouting create a geometric feel. A touch of luxury in injected with bold brass accents. All this under a canopy of plants, creating a botanical paradise.
On Sunday myself and Hannah, from Hannah Alice Interiors, went on a day trip to Brighton, I had so much fun exploring the lanes and mooching around the many homeware shops.
I wanted to put together my favourite shops from the day for you guys so if you’re ever in Brighton you can check them out for yourselves.

They have a number of stores dotted around the UK, mainly in the London area. They do however have an online shop so its easily available for everyone.
I love their homeware range, from small accessories to furniture they have it all.
I would definately say they are more on the pricey side with the bar cart in the bottom right corner retailing at £375, and the TV cabinet in the top right was £475.
Botanical inspired interiors are not new in home decor. Companies such as Laura Ashley and Sanderson have been heavily influenced by nature throughout many of their collections. There has been a shift however in how the trend is styled. Previously if you were to think of a botanical trend, it would be quite fresh and delicate, whereas the current trend is very bold and sophisticated and creates a very dramatic space.

I recently took a trip to Homesense and I was in candle heaven!
Homesense is my go to place for candles, they usually have brands that are a bit different which I love. I literally went in to get one, maybe two candles and left with five (i really can’t control myself).
The majority of the candles I picked up were from a brand called DW Home, with one being from a company called leoben co.
I’m excited to show you what I got …
Tuesday 25th September marked the launch of River Islands debut homeware range.
They have joined the likes of other high street retailers, Zara, H&M and Next who also have homeware departments.
The prices vary, starting from £8 all the way up to £275.
